London - 97 Great Russell Street

Yesterday at 8:45pm (Greenwich Time) I arrived in London. London airspace at least. It took another 45 minutes before the plane had secured a landing slot at Heathrow and touched down. Some people clapped, I didn't really care anymore.

After a train ride to Paddington station, I took a cab with my manager to Great Russell Street, where my hotel is situated. It is actually a much nicer hotel than the place I stayed last time I was in London, and I think the oil paintings at the entry area are very cool and surreal. They look like old renaissance paintings except that the subjects face is unfinished.
I feel inspired to do something similar someday.
After trading my inflated Canadian currency for the doubly inflated British pound, I feel much poorer and breakfast (at 16.50 pounds!) alone cost me enough that I may think twice about it tomorrow. Actually I'm taking a train out to Winchester and then a taxi over to Hursley tomorrow so hopefully things are cheaper out there. At least they were last time I went.
Besides tea, crumpets and whisky, does England have something I should be bringing back with me?

How about a sense of history?
Or, you could leave a little bit of Warren in London.
Take that in whichever way you want.
do it... get slutty in London, boy.
Actually, while you're in London, you should buy Penguins (the cookies), and that really good fudge. Boiled mints and some kind of licorice.
D: I leave a little of me everywhere I go, though sometimes I'm not sure how I feel about that. And as always, a little more in some places than others.
C: Penguins cookies eh? Sounds intriguing. Did you ever try "Cornish Pasties"?

Mirror mirror on the pillar, who's that fellow in the mirror?
Hey, check out 'The Chocolate Society' on 36 Elizabeth Street. You'll find some awesome hand-made confections that you could bring back to the wild wild west :)
You could always try the fish and chips, and curry.
And bring back a bowler hat or trench coat.
And everything is bloody expensive.
I will have Indian tonight I think. Last night I had quite a few drinks with the sales guys.
Nope I ended up having French. Please be advised that "Creme Fraiche" is NOT fresh cream. It is another name for SOUR CREAM!
I was horribly disgusted when I had a heaping spoonful of chocolate cake topped with some "creme fraiche".
Yuck.
Hope that breakfast was grrrrreat.
What to bring back...
isn't England famous for their clay tobacco pipes?

Damn you got the good job. Well...for a single guy you got the good job. Have fun whatever you do!!
Yeah I'm in Hursley today. Caught the train to Winchester and then cabbed it over.
Tonight I want Indian finally dammit!
And tomorrow - Cambridge to party with the BEAV
Sirdar: Yeah it's good for now but the jet lag is pretty rough. I sounds better than it is I think. After a couple times of travelling it really starts to wear on you.
Woot! See you soon man!
Yeah, and going for a curry is a must.
