Jasper - Cliffhanging

A lot of people do stupid things when they're in nature and out of the big cities. They approach and try to feed bears, they naively cross "do not cross" lines on the glacier (a child died in 2001, January 4th, just metres from the "do not cross" line), and hang off the side of cliffs (a boy died this year falling into a waterfall).

Today I climbed up an unmarked trail to get a better look, a better view, and hell even some better photos at a beautiful waterfall I spotted with Indesin on our way from Jasper to Hwy 11.

It didn't seem so dangerous until I tried to get back up the cliff edge... then I realized I was only inches away from slipping over the edge. Posted by Picasa

Fortunately it isn't the fall the hurts, its the sudden stop when you hit the ground. :-)

As I get older I'm slowly becoming Mr. Safety. I even make the kids wear ear plugs when they mow the lawn. I wear all my PPE when I cut down trees. It probably saved my life this spring when a branch fell and hit me on the head.

Glad you didn't fall!!
