Snake Infiltrates Smash Bros

If you've played Smash Brothers for Nintendo 64, or GameCube, you will have most likely been anticipating the next release in the series. I certainly have been, and not only have the graphics been enhanced and new players added, but one of the new characters is none other than THE Solid Snake.

To satisfy your need for confirmation, check out the HD trailer for it, courtesy of gametrailers.com.

All I know is that after Nintendo's VERY impressive showing at E3, the stock NTDOY has been headed up. From $13 to $21 in just the last 12 months. I meant to get in before E3, but business travel has precluded me from getting time at the bank. That's ok, I'm going in with Nintendo for the long term, they have proven their foresight with regards to innovation again and again.

I'm sorry, I'd say more but... the picture says it all.

SNAKE! Snaaaaaaaaaaaaaake!!!!!

I think Nintendo is making all the right moves... especially now that Sony is being a little bitch...

I think Nintendo's going to sell a gagillion Wii's (Sweet barrels of beer why did they call it something so stupid?! WHY?!). E3 was huge for them , and since the Wii will likely come onto the market with a decent price, it's looking might good for the big N.

What I want to know is who does Sony think will be able to afford both the $600 system and the $100 (?) games and then $XX/month online subcription fee?

The Wii (yes I know... revolution was more gamer-friendly) is already on my wish list.

I hear it's going to come in multiple sizes, not just colours:

Wii, not so wii, and FRICKIN' HUGE!

//yes yes, shamefully stolen from someone else's comment on Slashdot, but it's funny...

I'm still a bit unconvinced about Nintendo. I bet it'll do well in Japan, but I wouldn't be too surprised if the X-Box 360 is the big winner this round in North America.

Why?

I just think it's better targetted to American gamers. Nintendo still seems too focused on cutesy games, while I think the market is more focused on adult games, ie. GTA, etc.

Anyways, just my prediction. I haven't really been paying enough attention to say either way.

I heart Nintendo 4 ever.

Wii = dope name.

Cutesy games = who cares, they're ACTUALLY FUN TO PLAY.

Shigeru Miyamoto, please conver to Catholicism so we can make you a Saint when you die. St. Shigeru, like the sound of that?!

I would approve of Sainting him.

I love the sound of St. Shigeru...

btw, have you read A Canticle for Leibowitz? Man, that's an excruciatingly witty sci-fi look at the Catholic church in the future...

Nintendo just needs a couple of violent and dirty games, and it's set.

Or we could just play Madden 2006 on the Xbox360. Yes! Just like Madden 2005, but the players have all aged exactly one year! See the hint of grey in the sideburns!

Halo 3 should be fun.

I was die-hard Nintendo the whole way, but I never really liked the Gamecube: I didn't really like the games, and I don't like the design of the console and the controllers. They didn't even have a decent Mario game for that console!

However, I was genuinely impressed with the Dual Screen handheld that Blight showed me. Maybe if Nintendo comes through with all the innovative technological updates then the Wii will do well.
