Section 31 Files
I have to give some props to Darker Projects for the very entertaining unauthorized audio fiction programs they've been letting me enjoy for free.Specifically, I've been listening to "The Section 31 Files", a gritty and intense series of 20-30 minute long radio-show style episodes. The voice acting is very good, one could say professional, and definitely does NOT come off as a "fan" production. The sound effects and music are perfect, obviously some have been skillfully lifted from the movies and TV series we know and love (or not).
It's actually a nice way to wind down before I sleep, I just put the mp3 on play and listen in the dark lying on my bed. If I fall asleep before it ends I can continue where I left off as I head to work.
And speaking of work, I've been going to work super early (for me)... first 9, then 8, and now I have to be in at 7am tomorrow! Trust me, that's very unusual for me. I often work late hours but no-one would confuse me for a morning person.
This week I've been the technical lead in charge of that big account that has come to Toronto to listen to our technical pitch. So far it has gone really well, and I'm feeling good about that. That, and the fact that after tomorrow (Thursday) I'm FREE!
FREE as in speech, not beer of course. I'll be flying down to Edmonton to hang with Lobo, Derelict, Beav's parents, and - of course - the Rockman clan.
So get your chocolate bunnies prepped, and those mini-cadbury eggs ready, because I'm bringing my appetite!Technorati Tags:

So, you'll be down Friday night? Will you be available then? That's probably the best time for me to meet up. Or Friday afternoon. Or even Thursday night! The possibilities are theoretically endless.

Oh yeah, and I need to be in Calgary by Sunday, so the absolute latest I can hang out is Saturday night, but if it's Saturday night then I want to go to a big party.

Do I like Star Trek? Well I have fond memories of watching ST:TNG with my family when I was younger, and I don't mind watching re-runs of those episodes. I'm just a casual fan though.
Lobo never did reply to my email that I was coming down, but I just spoke with him and he's ready to hit the town with the mackin' advice I gave him.
If you liked star trek then you probably like the Matrix. If you liked the Matrix do yourself a favour and go see V for Vendetta. The big screen is worth it.
If you liked V for Vendetta, read The Watchmen... it's by Alan Moore as well, and it's funny, creepy, fascinating and moving all at once.

Ugh, I wasn't actually that hung over, but my gut feels like it's been rinsed out with draino. Which is probably a bad thing.
I drove by The Standard with my rental on the way to Calgary and half expected you chumps to still be standing there waiting for a cab. Remember, fortune favours the asshole!
I still don't get why that one girl ran off when I tried to hump her leg. Her and her friend totally wanted us.
Anyways, great times, though. I'm glad I didn't go to some dumb-ass rave.
Oh yeah, and on the (currently off) topic of videogames, I saw a MySpace profile with an avatar from Maniac Mansion. Now that was a sweet ass game. I remember really enjoying it, even though I think it had a bug.

OK, here's something to think about:
Girls always complain that guys have huge egos, but the basic rules of the game seem to indicate that girls want the guys to be the ones to lavish all the attention and compliments on the girl. Which is usually what happens.
Sooooooooooo, I'm guessing that means that girls (at least girls who know they're hot) probably have way bigger egos than the average guy.
But now I'm getting on some "Girls are from Venus, Guys are from Mars" bullshit, which I hate, so I'll stop.
But still. Ya know what I'm sayin'?
I'm of the opinion that girls are just like guys, but pretend to be into 'nice guys that are funny'.
They're just as shallow and pleasure-driven as men, but it manifests in different ways...

I think there's obviously a wide spectrum for both men and women. I know lots of women who are promiscuous and I know guys who don't care much about sex, or at least it's not much of a priority, or take a more stereotypical view towards sex, and only want one partner and a heavy relationship.
The difference is that most women have somewhat more power in that venue. Even if a girl is promiscuous and has slept with every guy but you doesn't mean that she's going to sleep with you. Where as, at least theoretically, I'd sleep with most girls if they made the effort with me.
Also, I think both sides play it up or down. Men are probably less horny on average than we let on, and women are probably somewhat hornier / sluttier than they let on.
