Ode To Joy

I have graduated to the level of using 2 strings on my guitar at the same time. So that means that I can actually play a real song, somewhat. At least I can recognize it, but then again, I think this is one of those songs that you can play using a touch tone phone. But hey if it's by Beethoven, it must be good.

For other budding guitar players, I have included the "Note Positions" handout my instructor gave me. Also, you can listen to the MIDI version of this song in case you are curious how it should sound if played properly.

My goal is to be able to play a couple Christmas songs by the time I head back to Alberta again. Suggestions? I hear Jingle Bells is pretty easy...

Getting pretty heavy into guitar, eh?

Does this mean that there's no more time for videogames?

Actually, I remember in 'Lost in Translation', there's a video game where you 'play' a guitar. Maybe you strum power chords and it fries goblins with lightning bolts?

That movie was awesome, and that is totally how I felt when I was in Japan the first day...

They have some amazing games there man. I was accompanied by the sweetest girl to this "game warehouse". 2 buildings with 12 stories of video games, and a ferris wheel connecting them on the 6th floor. All by the waterfront.

Paradise?

I was surprised how much I liked Lost in Translation. It cemented the fact that I need to go visit Japan soon. Though, I'd want to hang out with the cool surfer types like in the movie.

Stick with learning guitar! I did the obligatory 3 months of trying to learn, but gave it up pretty quick.

Lost in Translation definitely captured the mood right, and had some great, comic parts, but overall, it let me down by faking like it was all aloof.

I just finished watching Revenge of the Nerds, and that is a -great- movie. Those nerds take control, biatch!

Risking sounding like a big pansy, I have to say that the romantic theme of Lost in Translation, where the two main characters don't end up having sex is refreshing.
